Directions

  1. Mix some baking soda with water. Add food coloring.

  2. Freeze for a few hours or overnight.

  3. Head outside (this experiment can get messy)

  4. Let the cubes defrost a little, and then add some vinegar. Watch the magic

What’s Happening
Vinegar (an acid ) and baking soda ( an alkali ) react together to neutralize each other. This reaction releases carbon dioxide, a gas which is the bubbles you see.
