Melted Crayon Butterflies

Materials

  • Crayons

  • Sharpener

  • Iron

  • Scissors

  • Parchment paper

  • Paper

  • Tempera paint

Directions

  1. Draw butterfly shape on a piece of paper. Fold the paper in half, then unfold

  2. Shave crayon bits. Add to paper on one half of the butterfly shape.

  3. When your butterfly looks filled in, fold the paper in half.

  4. Place a piece of parchment paper over the folded butterfly and iron in two-second motions. It won’t take more than 15 seconds for the crayons to be melted.

  5. Open it up! Fill in with tempera paint if you’d like.

  6. Once dry, cut out.
