Cinnamon Applesauce Ornaments

Materials

  • 1 cup smooth applesauce

  • 1 1/4 cup ground cinnamon

Directions

  1. In a large bowl or stand mixer, mix together cinnamon & applesauce until a smooth call forms. Dough should be moist & easy to handle, not sticky. If necessary adjust ingredients until easier to handle.

  2. Dive dough into 2 equal parts. Shape into discs.

  3. Chill for an hour or longer.

  4. Preheat over to 200. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.

  5. Sprinkle work surface with cinnamon. Place one disc of dough down on the cinnamon coated surface. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Roll to 1/4 inch thickness.

  6. Cut shapes using cookie cutters. Use a straw to make an ornament hole. Transfer to prepared baking sheet.

  7. Bake for 2 hours or until completely firm.

  8. Cool completely. Thread string or ribbon through holes.
